Dumbbell Lateral Raises
THE GOLDEN EXERCISE USED FOR CREATING BOULDER SHOULDERS!
DUMBBELL LATERAL RAISES TARGET THE SHOULDERS FOR STRENGTH AND DEFINITION.
Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand at your sides, palms facing in.
With a slight bend in your elbows, lift the weights out to shoulder height.
Pause briefly, then lower back down with control.
PRO TIPS:
Use light weights & don’t swing/use momentum. Focus on time under-tension with controlled movement, especially slowing your dowanward movement of dumbbells.
Hinge slightly at the hips or drop your chest forward to align the middle deltoid fibers squarely with gravity.
Avoid squeezing the handles too tightly to prevent your forearms and traps from taking over the movement
MODIFICATIONS:
Partial reps: if you feel a slight pinch at the highest point of the movement, do partial reps to build tolerance & strength for the movement
Small weight: focus on eccentric (lowering of db by your side) movement by prolonging it and using smaller weights if lifting heavier weights bother your shoulders
